Biography

Elena Datrino was born in Vercelli, Italy in 1977.

Graduated in Photography at Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan, Italy in 1999, after one year of experience as archivist for Civica Raccolta Stampe Achille Bertarelli, Castello Sforzesco, Milan, she started working as assistant for seven years for international productions in Italy and all over Europe for fashion, design, food and industrial photography.

In 2009 she's nominated director of Studio 51/53, Brugherio, Milano a 500sqm for music, advertising, editorial photo/video studio productions: caring design, planning and start-up of all the activity.

Experienced in different photography fields, actually she mainly works for portrait, design, art photography reproductions, event and industrial reportage.

She collaborates with publishers and leading brands internationally known as Alessi, Moschino, Gucci, Edizioni Rizzoli, Mondadori, Allemandi, Bora, Paparo, Zel.

In addition to the commercial activity, she started in 1998 as selected young author for the International Photo Festival of Arles, France her personal photography research career with collective and personal projects. Her works have been exhibited at Savignano sul Rubicone International Photo Festival, B.Brecht Gallery, AffordableArtFair and Leica Gallery in Milan, Galleria Vittoria and Rome Art Academy, Orvieto FIOF International Festival.

From 2011 she opened her own Studio in Milan. From 2013 the Studio has become rentable for photo and video productions. Working with photographers, directors and dops guests, she's constantly increasing her working network, also collaborating for external agencies or freelances for many visual projects: from a corporate to art.

Since 2015 she has been judge and president of the jury of International Photo Competitions, including:

  • Food Mood 2015, Genius Path 2018 -Rotary Club Alto Canavese, Torino
  • Work Family Rebalance 2019 -Fondazione Marco Vigorelli, Milano
  • Obbiettivo Solidarietà 2016, 2017, 2018, 2020 -Misericordia di Siena

From 2018 she teaches “Photography direction 2: portrait & figure” by Istituto Europeo di Design in Milan.
